Inova Health
System, Northern Virginia’s leading nonprofit healthcare provider, celebrated the grand opening of the Inova Cares Clinic for Families located at 8101 Hinson Farm Road in Mt. Vernon recently. This marked a significant milestone in Inova’s goal to drive accessibility to world-class healthcare across every income level. The event was attended by numerous community leaders and local dignitaries, including Fairfax County Supervisor Dan Storck (Mt. Vernon District) and Fairfax County Supervisor Rodney Lusk (Franconia District), Delegate Mark Sickles, along with Inova leadership and community partners.
Cox
Communications was proud to be a part of the festivities, and to support the Community
Cares Clinics which provide primary healthcare for families who are un- or
underinsured across its seven community locations. Funding for Clinic was made
possible in part thanks to a $250,000 grant from the James M. Cox Foundation,
the charitable arm of Cox Enterprises, parent company of Cox Communications, as
well as other donors.
“We understand families face challenges meeting social and healthcare needs. With this grand opening, we are partnering with our neighbors to create a medical home in the community to address healthcare needs and foster long-term wellbeing,” said Karen Berube, Chief, Community Health and Health Equity, SVP, Inova.
As a company with deep roots in Northern Virginia, Cox and its employees understand intimately how diverse our communities are, and the different backgrounds – culturally and economically – that are represented here. As such, Cox has made high-speed internet accessibility a priority, supporting programs like the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), which exists to
help families overcome the gaps created by the digital divide.
Colleen Langner, EVP and COO of Cox Communications joined Inova leaders for the ribbon cutting ceremony. “Cox has been a longtime partner of Inova Health System and the Inova Health Foundation, and we’re thrilled and appreciative of the James M. Cox Foundation’s generous investment in this new Inova Cares Clinic,” said Langner. “Together with Inova, we’re supporting people in overcoming health and wellbeing challenges.”
Inova’s care network extends to all the diverse communities they are privileged to serve, because they believe that healthy homes and communities are core to their mission. Inova provides the high-quality healthcare every person deserves—regardless of their ability to pay and this clinic will have a tremendous positive impact on Mt. Vernon and Cox Communications is proud to support Inova’s important work to provide healthcare to everyone in Northern Virginia.
