Southeast Fairfax Development Corporation (SFDC) is a nonprofit economic development organization dedicated to promoting the redevelopment and revitalization of the Richmond Highway corridor of U.S. Route 1 from the beltway to Fort Belvoir in Fairfax County, Virginia. Since 1981, SFDC has helped direct nearly \$2 billion of private investment to the Richmond Highway corridor. As southeast Fairfax continues to grow with more residents and new business, our organization serves as a helpful resource for business owners, developers, property managers, and members of the community.

Springfield/South County Youth Club provides athletic programs for boys and girls ages 4 to 19 that promote character development, good sportsmanship, and exemplary behavior.  We strive to establish a nurturing and supportive environment which reflects, respects, and celebrates our differences, while embracing the richness of diversity within our membership.

Located at 8849 Richmond Highway, Alexandria, the StayAPT has 72 suites that all have a living room area, full kitchen to include stainless steel microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher and full oven with flat top range with all of the necessary cooking equipment and utensils needed.

The living room has a 55 inch flat screen TV and the bedroom has a 49 inch flat screen TV. They offer king suites and rooms with two queen beds. They have a courtyard with a fire pit, grilling area and complimentary laundry facilities.

General manager John Shideler has been in the hospitality business for over 30 years, running hotel properties as well as food and beverage operations. John has been married to his high school sweetheart for 32 years and they have three grown children. Amanda is married and is a Cardiac Surgery ICU Nurse in Richmond, Johnny is a graduate from the University of Alabama and still lives there, and Corey is graduating from the Naval Academy in May.


Sunrise Senior Living opened in 1981 as a resident-centered environment. Until then, the only available senior care was in institutional-like facilities otherwise known as nursing homes. With their new approach to senior care, Sunrise Founders Paul and Terry Klaassen began a movement to champion quality of life for all seniors.
