ECONOMIC OUTLOOK 2022

With inflation at all-time highs, supply issues, and workforce challenges businesses need information on what to expect for 2022, presented by Walsh, Colucci, Lubeley, and Walsh PC

 

The Economic Outlook 2022 will provide top-level experts who can break through the noise and provide information on our regional and local economy.  There will also be a focus on workforce training initiatives to up-skill your employees or help you find the talent you need.

 

 

Joe Mengedoth is a regional economist for the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, where he conducts research and provides analysis of data related to a variety of topics, including employment, labor force participation, and firm characteristics. He also manages the production of the Bank's Beige Book report. Prior to joining the Bank, he spent a decade providing revenue forecasting and analysis of proposed legislation for the Chief Economist of New Jersey. He also holds the designation of Certified Business Economist from the National Association for Business Economics.

 

 

Dr. Keith Waters is a senior research associate at the Center for Regional Analysis at George Mason University. He is also pursuing postdoctoral work at Arizona State University at the School of Complex Adaptive Systems. Dr. Waters has worked at variety of institutions and non-profits including the Urban Institute at UNC-Charlotte, the Stephen S. Fuller Institute at George Mason University and the U.S. Economics and Statistics Administration. His research centers on regional economic geography and urban economics from a complexity perspective.

 

 

 

Supervisor Rodney Lusk knows the Richmond Highway Corridor is entering a tremendous period of opportunity. From the BRT project, the widening of the highway, and adoption of the Embark plan, to the groundbreaking on both Amazon’s HQ2 and Virginia Tech’s innovation campus, Route One is poised to morph into an economic powerhouse that extends from the Pentagon to Fort Belvoir. Dana S. Fallon is the Interim Director, Business Engagement and Career Services at Northern Virginia Community College. NOVA Workforce offers continuing education and professional development training for today’s workforce. They work with employers to teach new, in-demand skills, or prepare employees for industry credentials. 

 

  

 

 

 

As Director of FCEDA’s Talent Initiative Program, Michael Batt is responsible for developing programs and delivering solutions to solve the talent attraction challenge at scale, aimed at retention, retraining, growth, and attraction.  Mike joined FCEDA in 2019 after retiring from Microsoft after a 30-year career in technology sales and channel management positions.
